MIRÓ & JORN

The exhibition conveys the sparkling encounter between two of the world art's giants: the introverted, dreamy skeptic Joan Miró and the outgoing and social Asger Jorn. Where Miró cultivated a form of cosmic order, Jorn thrived around chaos.

THE NORDIC VOICES OF MODERNISM

Museum Jorn has in its possession a major collection of symbolist and expressionist Danish art from the late nineteenth century until the 1930s. Asger Jorn was very interested in the art of this period, which provided both the historical background and inspiration for his own art.

Yet Cobra comes across as an all-male club whose gender composition has been taken for granted over the years.
