Looking for collective and creative input? A workshop at Museum Jorn offers immersion, play, and creative learning
Asger Jorn never went in for normality and straight lines in his artistic practice. This made him a particularly interesting artist and it is an aspect that continues to be relevant today in terms of both learning and play.
That is why we arrange workshops where you can try out for yourself the creative, abstract, and surrealist visions and trends in Jorn’s art. You could try, for example, to overpaint old paintings, make light drawings, work with others on a collective work, or perhaps just try to ignore constraints and drop being in control. All of it part and parcel of Jorn’s artistic universe.
A workshop starts with a walk through the exhibition for inspiration. Afterwards, participants continue in the workshop trying out the very same techniques that Asger Jorn used in his works.
Everyone! At Museum Jorn, you can take part whether you are aged four or ninety-nine. The workshop requires no art historical training but merely appeal to the imagination and creative energy of participants. It is not a question of being good at drawing or painting but rather of seizing an idea and being inspired by a technique. The workshop is for all groups who want collective and creative input.
A workshop could form part of a team building event for employees, a company outing, or a private group experience.
The purpose of a workshop is to inspire participants to think out of the box, drop the common ideas of what constitutes art, and step into Asger Jorn’s artistic universe. By trying out Jorn’s methods themselves, participants will gain unique insight into the mind of one of Denmark’s most innovative and ambitious artists.
Moreover, the workshop offers participants a personal creative experience with opportunities for immersion.
