A guided tour at Museum Jorn makes art come alive!

We focus on individual works and explore the artists’ motivations and agendas. We look at the art from a historical perspective and draw parallels to the present.

Based on our expert knowledge and exhibition planning, we are able to give background knowledge and opinions, opening up for interpreting the works in a number of different ways. We aim to share fascinating, personal, and expert information about the art with our audience to whet their appetite and make the art experience more relevant and vibrant.

Meet Asger Jorn at your own level on a guided tour round the Jorn collection where you will experience his surrealist universe filled with fantasy figures and human animals, abstract art, and ambiguous imagery.

THE EX-SCHOOL

Museum Jorn pays tribute to this important period in Danish art with a compressed presentation of works from some of the school's most important representatives: Per Kirkeby, Peter Louis-Jensen, Poul Gernes and John Davidsen.

Now the filtrate of the museum's work with contemporary art's international heavyweights can be experienced in a dialogical presentation, where the most important new acquisitions are shown side by side with Per Kirkeby's art.

JORN’S WORLD

Museum Jorn today has the world’s largest collection of Asger Jorn’s (1914-1973) works, and through a large and varied selection, the exhibition reproduces the story of the world-renowned artist from Silkeborg.

ASGER JORN FROM FLOOR TO CEILING

Thanks to a great deal of commitment and generous hospitality, Asger Jorn's murals from Læsø have now found their way to Jorn's artistic hometown, Silkeborg, where they will in future be displayed permanently in a spacious installation.

SUPERFLEX & ASGER JORN

In this autumn's exhibition, Asger Jorn and other major artists from the museum's collection join the collective SUPERFLEX for a conversation about the museum's functions, its future, transformation and change of perspective.

HIWA K

The Bell Project is a two-part video installation by the Kurdish-Iraqi artist Hiwa K. (b. 1975) that poignantly documents an ambivalent cycle of use of raw materials in times of war and peace.
