MARKUS LÜPERTZ

Major Donation

Museum Jorn presents an exhibition with Markus Lüpertz's donation to the museum from 2021

Markus Lüpertz (b.1941) is one of Germany’s most influential artists after World War II. His paintings and sculptures were presented at a large retrospective exhibition at Museum Jorn in 2020. In recognition of the museum’s engaged presentation of his art, Lüpertz donated more than fifty major works to the museum collection.

This generous art gift comprising two significant paintings, eleven sculptures, forty drawings, and the monumental bronze Judith is now shown in its entirety for the first time.
