MARTHA JUNGWIRTH

Austrian painter, Martha Jungwirth (b. 1940), has attracted considerable attention on the international art scene in recent years. Balancing between the abstract and the figurative, Jungwirth's expressive works are characterized by energetic brushstrokes and coordinated color compositions.

From April 2025, Museum Jorn presents a major special exhibition of Martha Jungwirth’s exciting and virtuose oeuvre, which is her first solo exhibition in Scandinavia.

The exhibition shows over 100 works from the period 1960 to the present day. In addition to monumental main works and watercolors the exhibition also includes works that have never before been shown to the public are presented.

The exhibition is generously supported by the Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansens Foundation, the Augustinus Foundation and the Knud Højgaards Foundation.

The Austrian ambassador to Denmark is the patron of the exhibition.
